Hello from Salzburg
Yes Wednesday Wishes is back from its summer break but the Cultural Wednesday family are still exploring Austria by train. We started in Vienna, had a day trip to Bratislava, popped into Linz and are currently seeing just how many Mozart balls it is possible to eat in Salzburg.
For those of you in London there is lots going on. Buildings across London throw open their doors for free this weekend as part of Open House. Bartholomew Fair is returning to the City of London after a break of more than a century and celebrate all things riverine with the Totally Thames Festival. This week’s book of the week is also watery, The Mercenary River by Nick Higham.
During the summer Mr CW and I were invited to stay at Heythorp Park in the Cotswolds by Warner Hotels. They had me at Grade II listed house and parkland. Mr CW was lured by the golf, shooting, archery and snooker. We both loved the gin tasting.
Something to plan ahead for. Christies Lates are always good fun. They have great art to look at, performances, films and usually some kind of making as well as a pay bar. Next Wednesday they have a Late devoted to Picasso, it is free to attend but you do need to book.
Happy Culturing
