Welcome to Wednesday Wishes.
Everything in this week’s Wednesday Wishes is free. Sculpture in the City is back for its 12th edition. Over in Bethnal Green Young V&A has reopened its doors. London Art Week has talks and tours, Art after Dark has a two night feast of galleries open in the evening. Christie’s and Sotheby’s are selling incredible works and even if you don’t have deep pockets you can still go and see what’s coming under the hammer.
June is Pride month. As part of the celebrations the Barbican is staging a concert highlighting Queer Classical composers on July 7. This Friday 30 June Sotheby’s is putting on a taster concert conducted by Oliver Zeffman. Tickets are free but you do need to book.
Drumroll please. Vyki from Museum Mum and I have recorded our first podcast and we hope to press publish on Friday. No links yet. But we are called The Exhibitionists and will talking all things art, culture and travel. You can find us on Instagram for updates.
Summer holiday planning is underway in the Cultural Wednesday household. Yes I know we’ve left it a bit late. We’ve been waiting for things to fall into place and have now given up waiting. At present we are at the stage of constructing random wish lists and remembering summer holidays past. We were particularly nostalgic about our time in Weimar. Where are you heading for summer?
Happy Culturing
