Hello!
Welcome to Wednesday Wishes.
Today I’m writing to you from Eindhoven checking out Dutch Design Week. Mr CW was hopeful that my visit would take in the Arsenal vs Eindhoven match on Thursday but I will be well on my way home by kick off.
Back in London I managed to see all of this week’s exhibitions before I headed off on the Eurostar. With both the Wellcome Collection and the British Library being very handy for St Pancras International. Security was understandably tight at the National Gallery when I popped in to see Discover Manet and Eva Gonzalès. I suspect that we will begin to see much tighter checks when visiting museums and galleries.
I’m curious what I will find in Eindhoven which is home to Phillips. Vast swathes of the city were formerly devoted to the manufacture and research into new products and are now being repurposed. In the past the Dutch cities I have visited have been rich in Golden Age art galleries and architecture, it will be interesting to see the new. In the meantime why not take a look at my guide to Hague that manages to mix the seaside and great galleries.
Happy Culturing
Catherine
