Hello!
Welcome back to Wednesday Wishes.
Technically Cultural Wednesday is still on holiday, we will be heading back home as this pops into your inbox after a couple of weeks consuming beer, culture and Bosche Bolle in and around the Rhine delta
.My inbox is full of notifications of exciting new exhibitions about to open. Just as soon as I get back I will be heading off to the National Gallery for Winslow Homer and to the Wallace Collection for The Lost King.
For the past few days we have been pottering around Bruges. One of my favourite places in Bruges is just beyond the main square. Stepping into the Adornes Domain is like stepping back in time, you get a real idea of how life was lived in the grand households of medieval Bruges. On our visit this time they had just opened a tomb for the first time in 500 years in the Jerusalem Chapel that is part of the complex. The bodies had been removed but the archaeologists were shocked to discover not just a heart and one body but several bodies in the tomb, they are currently investigating who they all were. Whilst we were there they were examining the walls of the tomb to see if they could find wall paintings. Absolutely fascinating.
Happy Culturing
