Hello!
Welcome to Wednesday Wishes.
Yes, normal service has been returned. It was so hot yesterday that something melted in the Google London Cloud data centre, that in turn caused the server of Catherine’s Cultural Wednesdays (and thousands of other websites) to crash for over 15 hours.
This week has mainly been spent in the shade with a cool drink and a good book. I had big plans for exploration but instead have read and made plans for future expeditions. Top of my planning has been to find out how to navigate London in air conditioned splendour.
Whilst closeted in the coolest shady places I can find this week my mind has wandered to holidays. This year’s holiday is now nailed down, we are to reprise our stay in a Dutch castle, different castle but still by the sea. This week’s weather has put me in mind of sweltering in Weimar, so much so that we decided to drive around just for the air conditioning. On the same trip we sweltered in Berlin and sought the cool of the evening to visit the amazing Duisburg Nord Landschaft Park … once a steel works and now a park. Every morning on that German trip we watched the news with expectations of yet another record breaking temperature. The only day it was cool was the night we spent in Colditz, just as well as air conditioning has yet to come to the castle.
Happy Culturing
Catherine
